Title: The Midnight Watch
Author: James Rollins
Published: November 11, 2015
I stumbled onto this short story recently, and was blown away by how much Rollins packed into such a short piece of fiction.
The story starts with immediate action, and doesn't let up until the conclusion. I didn't even realize until I was preparing to write a review that this is Book 10.5 in the series, but that didn't prevent me from enjoying it.
Rollins did a fantastic job at fleshing out Kowalski's character.
At the end of the book, Rollins included a "What's True, What's Not" section, spelling out what's real and what's fiction (as he apparently does in all of his novels), and I am impressed by his dedication to research.
This new James Rollins fan has plans to go back and start with Book 1 in the Sigma Force series.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys thrillers.
