Title: Violet Storm (Modi #1) Author: Anna Soliveres Category | Genre: Young Adult | Science Fiction Publication Date: March 28, 2014 My Thoughts When I began this book, I was taken with Aeva’s strong character traits. I couldn’t help admiring her strength—both physically and mentally. She’s a renowned athlete in a brutal sport, which I found atypical, yet it perfectly suits her character. Though this book seems more dystopian than sci-fi to me, I was immediately drawn into the world Ann Soliveres created, which vaguely resembled the poor districts and Capitol region in The Hunger Games. But that’s where the similarities end. With solid character development, a story that moves quickly, and twists and turns along the way, this is a solid first novel for Anna Soliveres. I look forward to reading more of her work. I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. Rating: 4/5 Giveaway About the Author Anna Soliveres has always been a storyteller but it wasn’t until her early twenties when she began writing novel length works. The result was an enthusiasm to get better at the craft until her work could be shared with the world. Releasing in March 2014, VIOLET STORM is her debut novel. Anna is currently working on another young adult sci-fi series, titled SNOW DOLLS, set to release in late 2014. To learn more, please visit her at www.annasoliveres.com.
