Title: The Fading Dusk (Smoke and Mirrors, #1)
Author: Melissa Giorgio
Published: July 19, 2015
In The Fading Dusk, the entire cast of characters are fantastic, and that includes the city of Dusk. It is a living, breathing character on its own. The world building is strong in this book.
Those who know me ... really know me, know that I am a magician wannabe. I love any and all books with magic, and the magic is amazing in this novel. Fun and entertaining, yet dangerous. I love how Giorgio walks that line.
There is real character growth and development, especially for the heroine, Irina. And with plot twists galore, the unpredictability is delightful.
The Fading Dusk is a strong start to a new fantasy series, and I'm looking forward to see what is in store for Irina and her companions. This book is definitely worth your time if you're a fan of fantasies.
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
