Title: Victim Souls
Author: Andrew Terech Published: November 8, 2014 Genre: Horror, Young Adult My Thoughts
As a horror fan, I was very excited to read this book. However, it didn't live up to my expectations.
I really didn't get into this book until about the halfway point. The plot just didn't hold my interest. While I understand that in order for Sam to be unaware of what was really going on, the reader needed to be kept in the dark too. But, to me, it felt too forced. I like Sam and Johnny's relationship. Though it was rough and rocky, I think Andrew Terech portrayed that brotherly connection well, that deep down they truly cared for one another. And I understand the actions they chose in order to protect the other. My favorite parts of the book took place in the alternate world, the reflection of the real world. That's where the true horror happens. I love the creatures, including the innocent-looking creatures with bite. Those were my favorite scenes. While I like the concept as well as Sam and Johnny's characters, overall it didn't work for me. I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. Rating: 3/5 GiveawayAbout the Author
