Title: Joe (The Joe Knowe Series Book 1) Author: H.D. Gordon Genres: Mystery, Paranormal Published: June 29, 2012 My Thoughts Joe, told from multiple points of view, is a fascinating, yet dark tale. I loved burrowing into the heads of the characters because it made me feel like I truly knew them, and therefore I was able to truly care for each of them and their fates. Learning their backstories – mistakes and all – and how each of them are actively trying to right their past wrongs invokes not just sympathy for the characters, but real empathy. At first, I thought it was a little confusing that each chapter is the point of view of a different character. It felt like I was reading excerpts from different books. But, then their everyday activities started to twine together in, and I felt anxious to discover how they affect each other. In the end, their stories interweave beautifully. This is not a typical paranormal read, and not light-hearted either, but if you’re looking for something dark and interesting, you’ll want to pick up this book. I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. Rating: 4/5 About the Author H. D.
