Title: Escape from Witchwood Hollow
Author: Jordan Elizabeth Published: October 29, 2014 Publisher: Curiosity Quills Press Genres: Fantasy, Paranormal My Thoughts
I admit that I didn't immediately fall in love with this story. With three points of view in three time periods that don't seem to be related, I got frustrated and put the book down, intending to start another one. However, the girls--Honoria, Albertine, and Lady Clifford--were already stuck in my head, and I wanted—no, needed--to learn their fates, so I decided to give it another chance. I'm glad I did.
I enjoyed learning how the Witchwood Hollow came to be and why those who enter do not leave. I found it fascinating and a truly original concept. After a bumpy start, I found it interesting to watch the girls' fates on separate timelines converge at the end of one woman's lifetime. I found the historical aspects interesting as well. It seems that the author did her research and knows her time periods fairly well. From the speech patterns and garments to lifestyle, I felt like I had been transported back in time to 1670, 1850, and 2001. The ending wasn't what I was expecting, but I've discovered that I enjoy when an author can surprise me in a satisfying way. I recommend this book to fans of witch and ghost stories alike. A copy of this book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. Rating: 4/5 About the Author
